Description

WOW!! Take a look at this CBCS beauty! It's a no-nonsense, investment quality NM+ copy of Tales of suspense #39!! It features the very first appearance (as well as origin) of one of Marvel's flagship characters, Iron Man, in a classic production by Stan Lee (story), Jack Kirby (cover art) and Don Heck (interior art). As most discerning collectors know, this book is almost impossible to find in Near Mint Plus or better (there are only 5 9.6's and 1 recently upgraded 9.8, that was a double bump from a 9.4, so far graded) and here is one that is actually better. It has a glossy, incredibly colorful cover (rare on this issue due to the grayish/greenish shaded background), a serious spine, ridiculous edges, sharp corners, perfect centering and SNOW WHITE PAGES. This is undoubtedly the nicest copy of Tales of Suspense #39 ever offered for sale. This comic is a true piece of American culture that seems to get overlooked by the other Marvel keys. Published that famous month and year (March, 1963) that brought you Amazing Spider-Man #1, Fantastic Four #12 and Incredible Hulk #6, among others.
